Fire Department Response Times
The San Francisco Fire Department have long been obstructionists in our fight for safer streets, claiming that any street modifications that discourage private vehicle access will also inadvertently affect their response times. This analysis will scrutinize SFFD's response times to over 3.1 million 911 calls, specifically to San Francisco's Slow Streets and other areas that have recently received infrastructure upgrades to protect vulnerable road users from traffic violence.

San Francisco has approximately 1,000 miles of roadway that is under the jurisdiction of SFMTA and the Department of Public Works. A tiny sliver of that has infrastructure that protects people from cars. This map will show exactly where every protected bike lane, slow street and car free space is in San Francisco as well as their total mileage across the city and within each supervisor district.
